Apple Crisp Autumn

The apples came from a friend.

The rainy autumn day called for some baking.

The ingredients were in the pantry.

The recipients were across town.

The recipe is here:

Apple Crisp

4 cups apples, sliced

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup all purpose flour

1/2 cup oats (regular or quick)

1/3 cup butter, softened

3/4 teaspoon cinnamon

3/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Spread apples in a greased 8 inch square pan

Mix together all other ingredients and sprinkle on apples

Bake about 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender

(I tripled the recipe....and baked it almost an hour)
